Who can have a Library Card?

Every Moore County resident is eligible to borrow materials from the Moore County Public Library.

What is the cost of the library card?

There is no cost for the first card, but there is a $1.00 charge to replace a lost card.

What is the loan period for checked out items?

The loan period is 2 weeks for all books, audio books and video tapes and DVD’s.

What is the charge for an overdue book?

There is a $0.10 charge per day, when an item is late. However, each Tuesday is fine free day and all late fees are removed from accounts when overdue items are brought back.

What is the cost for a lost item?

Each item in the Library is entered in to the system with a cost of the item this will be the amount owed for a lost item.

 Can I reserve a book?

Yes, you will need to give us the title of the book, along with the author name.

 How many items can I have checked out at any given time?

You may have 25 books and 3 movies checked out at any given time.

 Can I renew items checked out?

Yes, all renewed items will be checked out for an additional 2 week period. However, if an item is listed on a waiting list we will request that it be returned as soon as possible so others may enjoy.

 Do I have to bring item back to library to renew it?

No, you may call or e-mail to renew an item.

 Is there a fax machine for public use?

Yes, the cost is $1.00 for the 1^st page and $0.20 for each additional page.

 Do you have public access computers?

Yes, Public access computers are available to the public at no charge. These computers were received though TSLA (Tennessee State Library and Archives) Grant and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

 Are there tax forms available at the library?

Tax forms are available at the library from January 1 through May 31.

 Do you participate in Imagination Library?

You can submit your applications for the Imagination Library here at the Moore County Public Library.
